Momo is a 1991 Mazda Miata with 305,xxx miles and still running strong with the original engine and AUTOMATIC(sigh, I know) transmission. The plan with her is to completely restore her while also converting her to a MANUAL K24 powered Miata for autocross and road course sessions. These events are 100% intended to be live streamed and/or recorded for Twitch and YouTube. I prioritize performance over aesthetics mainly, but when the build is complete - I intend to make her prettier. I figured I could use this page to document all the work I've done to it so far.
The above photo is from the day I bought her.
When I got the Miata, the hood wouldn't shut all the way, and once you get it fully shut you couldn't open it due to damage from a previous owner. I currently use a Ratchet Strap to hold down the hood when I'm driving it. Hopefully this will not be necessary sooner rather than later. I have attempted to have the front end repaired, but once it sat at the auto body shop for a month untouched, I took it out and decided to tackle it another day.
While this may be a cosmetic modification, it also is a safety modification. I am able to see much further and quite a bit more in my peripherals, but I like the way they look.
